Quick Update

Well, I thought I'd write a little about our Christmas vacation in Louisiana. We are here at my parents house and have been doing lots if fun things, you know, typical things you'd associate with Christmas vacation like bike riding, playing in the yard, weeding the garden, etc....! The weather has been pretty mild. Except the 1st 2 days; it was freezing. But it quickly warmed up.
We also got to see my cute new nephew Austin. He was born on December 15th is is soo cute! Londyn has also enjoyed playing with his big sister Ryanne- they are only 5 months apart.
We've been eating lots of good food and trying to get in as much cajun food before we go home. Hopefully I will get some crawfish before I go home!
Cody unfortunately had to go back already. We will be back on Saturday. Too bad not enough time to go to the Sugar Bowl, but my dad and brother will be there.
Well, I have a very tired little girl that I need to put to bed. See you all soon!

Early Christmas

Since we are leaving for Louisiana on Sunday we decided to do Christmas early with Londyn.

Her big present was a toy kitchen, which she LOVES. It took about 4 hours to put it together, but it was worth it! Yesterday I said, "let's go take a little nap." And she said, "No, I go play with my kitchen for a couple bits!" Yeah, she never took a nap.

So lately Londyn has wanted to rough house with Cody before going to bed. It consists of him laying on our bed and her standing on him or doing cannon balls on his back ( I need a video of that because it's hilarious!) Here's the proof:

Two of a kind!

This is my little brother Caleb. He came up for the weekend to go to the big game (GO UTES!!!!!)

I'm pretty sure that he and Londyn were cut from the same mold. They are both hyper and silly and could watch funny cat videos on youtube alllllll day. They did this all morning and were laughing their heads off. It was pretty funny.

And then a real cat showed up. Gromit, the neighbor's cat, who thinks our house is his 2nd home.

On Cody's last business trip he went to Toronto and he brought back this really cute hat for Londyn. And she actually wears it!

This is her wearing it in the backyard with her hat on and her scriptures. We have a mini Book of Mormon and Londyn has claimed it as hers. Looks like she is pondering in this pic!

Another project

We've started another project since we FINALLY finished the floor in the entry way and 1/2 bath. Next is the play room. Right now it's just a big tan room with a big tan couch and a bunch of toys just thrown in there. Stay tuned to watch the transformation! (hopefully it won't take too long!)

Catch up

This is our little "princess" in her Halloween costume, or "costcume" as Londyn calls it! She was Cinderella, and LOVED her costume, she would have worn it everyday if I had let her. I am bummed though, because we never got a really good picture of her in it.

This is a picture of the snow that fell on Election Day. I didn't really want to go out in it, but I did my duty and cast my vote. (Eventhough I'm really scared about the way things are turning out with the polls.) It was fun to take Londyn voting with me though. When she saw the voting screen she said, "I want the elephant." I said, "That's for John McCain." And she said, "oh, I like John McCang!"

And this is Miss Independant. She pulled the stool over to the counter, reached up and got the strawberry milk powder, grabbed my cup that was right there, asked for a pink spoon and proceeded to make her own straberry milk! I was pretty impressed!

Labor of Love

Thanks Catherine for making the cookies for me to decorate! I know they took a while to make, but they were delicious. They only took 6 hours to decorate, too! Now I know why bakeries charge and arm and a leg for one! Our Labor of love for Gretchen and her baby girl!

Vegas/ St. George

On Friday morning Londyn and I caught a 7am flight to Las Vegas to meet up w/ my parents. (this is her playing on the little table and chairs by our gate.) My mom and dad flew to Vegas on Thursday and stayed at the Paris hotel. We flew down so we could spend the day w/ them and drive to St. George w/ them, instead of waiting until 6:00 when Cody got off work to drive down with him. Kind-of silly I know, but it was worth it. It was a fun day.

And this one is at my brother's game. I liked her upside down sunglasses! And just so you know it was freezing in St. George. Not as cold as Salt Lake, but still way too cold!

A change in direction

Just to give everybody a heads up: after much debate (and way too many last minute business trips) I've decided to shift gears and pursue a new career direction. Starting in a few weeks I'll begin work as a User Interface Designer for:




Backcountry is one the premier online retailers of outdoor gear and apparel, and is well known for their core nature and commitment to their customers. They have a great company, really sharp people, an awesome culture and a really flat management style that encourages employees to take risks and develop new programs and processes. I have really enjoyed my time at AMEDICA, but feel that I need to pursue more creative avenues and get into a more predictable schedule. I'm really excited for this new opportunity and a chance to work for a company that is so tied to the things I love. I'll keep everyone posted on how it goes.

Most last minute vacation ever!

Soo, last Friday Cody found out he had to be at a conference in Orlando on Sunday(last Sun.).
So we found a way to get Londyn and I there and we were able to spend 4 days in Orlando and make a vacation of it. It turned out to be a lot of fun!

Londyn watching the ducks at the hotel. Everyday the "Peabody Ducks" would march to the lobby fountain and hang out in the fountain all day. It's some sort of tradition I think.

Our 'lil frequent flyer! (on the 4hr plane ride home she slept for 3 hours! And i didn't care that it was from 3-6pm!)

Day #2 of Sea World. We had a really good time at SeaWorld. All of the animals were really cool and the Shamu show was fun!

Riding the shuttle to Magic Kingdom. We spent our last few hours in Orlando at the Magic Kingdom. That was fun too. But itwas pretty hot and crowded; a lot of British people! Overall, a very fun last minute vacation!

Fun things the last couple weeks!

-Watched my little bro play football

-Had my little bro stay the night at my house

- Ate a yellow cupcake w/ chocolate frosting

- Bought Londyn a cute new outfit and shoes

- Went to the park 3 days in a row and enjoyed the nice weather

- watched the grass in my yard come back to life

- Read books during Londyn's nap

- Got a Dr. to listen to me

- Saw my granparents from Idaho

- Got 17 hours of work in, in one week (that's a lot for me!)

-Londyn went to the potty for the 1st time

- Family managed to survive 2 hurricane's

- Went to bed one night at 9:30

-Laughed at my silly daughter

- Signed up for better cable (yay for hgtv and food network!)

-watched a full moon rise over the mountains

- Had a long over due date w/ my hubby while Londyn spent the night ay his mom's

- Ate sushi! Mmmm how I love good sushi!

It's funny how so many good things happen when you stop to think about it!

Friday September 5th...

My little bro Caleb turned 22 on Friday- Happy belated birthday! He got home from his mission to Italy a year ago, went to Boise State for a semester and is now at Dixie State College playing football. As you can see in the 1st picture he is kinda silly! That face is what he does on all of his school IDs. He's a little crazy, but is still a really great kid. Good luck this season Caleb. We love you!!!

Interesting find

This strawberry was in the package of strawberries I just bought. I thought it looked like a tooth!
